In 2019, the emergence of COVID-19 had deterred and deprived communities of social, economic, and political freedom and progress. The new era comes with many challenges and new orders, particularly the imposition of community lockdowns or restrictions, measures viewed as public health approaches to containing COVID-19 by the Victorian Government or the Federal Government of Australia. The COVID-19 infection rates and public health risk communications in social media and other mediums have greatly impacted the day-to-day lives of individuals in the community, perhaps, wreaked fear, anxiety, depression, and general mental health to the community. The CMRH seeks to provide education sessions and campaign awareness to the community to learn more about COVID-19, assess general mental health prevalence through a partnership with the support of funding from the Victorian Government, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Multicultural Taskforce for COVID-19. The assessment will inform policy and advocacy to providing culturally appropriate mental healthcare-specific services, including referrals to the services and partnerships that support and address issues of mental health prevalence in the local multicultural communities.
